Well.....there are so many!!!!
In my younger years....tess of the D'Urbevilles......Scarlet O'hara.....Juliet........
But these days, Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar named Desire by Tennesee Williams is probably the number one.
Vivienne Leigh was great, but I reckon I could be pretty good in the role, especially if i got to play it with Marlon Brando.
Love that line: "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers......."
Reminds me of Yahoo Answers...

Definatly Scarlet O'Hara, such an interesting character, but also the lead in Now, Voyager, such a transformation, yeh and I agree with sum1else who said Kate from Taming of the Shrew and Beatrice form Much Ado, tho I have played Olivia in 12th Night and that was a really fun part. But of course new roles not yet written would be the best, who's next to come?!

Beatrice from much ado about nothing
Katherine from the taming of the shrew
(Shakespeare)
Evita
anything in the line of Cate Blanchett
feisty women I guess
In a film? A well-written character for something as big as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings
or perhaps a female version of Jean-Marc Barr in The Big Blue...
and countless others, but I need to dig a bit deeper to find 'em

I would love to play Eponine in the musical version of "Les Miserables" because she's very unique character that I can sort of relate to.Or even more so I would jump at the chance to play Maureen or Mimi in "RENT". Maureen is over the top and talented, while Mimi has to best songs and seems the most interesting character to play. But what plays does my high school put on? "Fame" and "The Whiz"...jeez...

Linda from the play Blood Brothers (play a 7 year old child, a stroppy confused teen through to a troubled adult) excellent role!
Polgara from the Belgariad books by David Eddings.
Id love to play a role like Jesus or King Arthur!!!
Any role with a strong, sassy, funny and vunerable character! (preferably all together!)
Hate being cast in whimpy girly parts....

i have good vocals and i love to act, so i would say Christina from the Phantom of the Opera, and the main actress in Grease.
Other then singing, i would like to have had a role as Naomi Watts in King Kong. I would have loved to be on "Friends". I luv that show. Why???

My two dream roles are Lucy from Jekyll & Hyde and Christine from the Phantom of the Opera. I have seen both those roles played by wonderful actresses, and to be able to play that, to have the opportunity, would be the chance of a lifetime. How can you pass that up, eh?
