1. Totti. He's a classy player, great scorer on free kicks, has a lot of creativity. Broken a leg on 19 February this year, his willingness push him in the competition.
2. Buffon. He's one of the best world goalies. He was injured in August 2005 and substituted by Abbiati along many months. When Abbiati was criticized, Buffon spent great words on him.
3. Toni. He's 29, and played only 4 'serie A' competitions, coming from minor series. Example of sportsmanship and willingness.

Totti is the best Italian player his exploits in euro 2000 have been widely recognised. He has still to hit top form in World cup 2006 but it will come withtime since he is coming back from Italy.
Best defender would be Cannavaro he is rock solid at the back, and best midfielder wud be Andrea pirlo he is the creative force in the middle of the park for the Azzuri's

Francesco Totti is one of the greatest Italian players of our generation. From the start, they called him the bimbo d'oro in Roma (the golden child). Now he's called the Prince of Rome and some sources say that he is more popular than the Pope. If that's not enough for you, go check out youtube. They've got some really nice clips of him in action.

i think the #1 rite now is Buffon because if it wasnt for him italy wouldnt b in the semi's he made lots of great saves. #2 Francesco Totti always a strong man commin back from an injury and still being this strong deserves lots of respect. #3 Andrea Pirlo that guy has jus the strongest shot of all italy's players.
