13 is the perfect age to start puberty. That is when the hair starts to grow in the armpit area and chest and face. It will not be long before the voice changes to a deeper tone and he will probably start getting a growth spurt. this is all totally normal. He is just becoming a man. tell him congrats on becoming a man.

It is fine to have armpit hair especially if you are a boy, my son looks like a gorilla all over that he shaves his chest alot of the time.he cant reach his back so someone else has to do that for him but armpit hair means you are growing up. Just be a kid as long as you can once you become an adult life changes.

lol it is a little weird & creepy for us ALL when we start getting that wicked body hair.
You're 13. It's the onset of puberty. Before you know it, you'll look like the wolfman...at least in some places. We all have it, unfortunately. It's just a part of life.

Yes he is supposed to start growing armpit hair as part of puberty. It would be creepy if there was no hair. Tell him to chill out and be glad he is growing up. Chicks will dig him now! :-)

I agree...it's fine...some fine things are just creepy. (More to come.)
Be sure to warn him that the next thing he'll notice is that girls will stop being covered with cooties.
