If you do allow it you will have accepted the title of door mat and can expect to walked upon whenever the person wants and they won't blink an eyelid while doing it. Mutual respect is the key regardless of ones financial status. However, you have to accept that when one party has a very high power job they deserve a degree of respect for their hard work and achievements.

It takes two to tango. We all work at something. The person laboring and providing income must have a meeting of the minds with the one who makes life worth living. Both need a reality check.

No, if they are treating you bad now, it would not matter if you made as much as them or not, they would still treat you the same way. An abusive person wether verbably or phisical will never change, it only gets worse. And nothing you can do will change that, money, love, threats, counseling, ect.
They are what they are!

that is true but when you decide to be in a relatioship where you are 100% depending on the other one, you are in a way giving them some power over you. if it was out of choice (maybe you stopped school early or some other reason!!) you can still get a job and be slight;y independant. Whoever is in this situation should just sit on their butt and expect things to happen . you husband/wife might be your soulmate but he/she is not your father/mother

Are you actually doing things around the house, pulling your weight, making meals, doing the laudry, changing the beds taking care of the kids(if there are any), etc,etc...If you are then hey, they have no right to treat you that way, but if your not...

Absolutley not, every man/women and child deserves to be treated with respect. If your not, dont stay in that relationship, find somebody who admires and respects you. Lifes to short to stay in an abusive relationship, emotionally or physically are just as harmful as the other.

I am guessing that you mean can they treat you like a sack of garbage. NO, even if you do not contribute much financially to a relationship there are other aspects to consider.

No, there is not any reason for someone to treat you any different than the way you want to be treated. It is your life and your body if they love you they will understand.

If I had a working woman who paid everything and took care of everything she could treat me anyway she wanted. She could do anything she wanted to me, too.
Heh, heh.
