For some the taste of spending some time in jail may be enough. But if it isn't make them clean up the graffiti or force them to make restitution for the cost of repair and I mean the kids not the parents. If that requires washing the squad cars or washing dishes at the jail while being supervised than so be it. There needs to be consequences for there actions so much so that they do not want to commit the crime again.

I don't know about jail, but a least some juvy and lots of community service. I think the penalty should be stiffer if they are painting gang signs, and the parents should be forced to do family counseling with the child if it is determined the kid is in a gang. Their is a breakdown in the family unit if this happens, and the parents need to be involved in helping the child understand why the child feels like he needs to be in a gang. Remember, they are just kids. Lots of hormones! Lots of changes! Sometimes they act out for reasons, and we need to help them grow up into responsible adults.

I think they should be required to clean up their mess and do additional community service. Maybe seeing what is involved in removing graffiti will make them think twice before they apply any in the future. And then clean up after someone else's stupitity. I believe in having the punishment fit the crime.

Hell yeah they should go to jail. I think that there parents should get some sort of punishment also because they didn't raise their children properly. I also think that they should clean, paint or replace what they ruined.

Sending them to jail is only going to cost us money and make them worse. I think we should make them indentured servants and get some work outta them. Make them clean up highways and scrub the walls and paint the crap they ruin.

nah...just give them a toothbrush and make them clean it all up....the entire time let people awalking by curse them spit on them add more graffiti for them to clean, etc....

I agree with you but you must know that they have no another way . and their parents must have punishing .
