If I drink like a glass of whine or a whine cooler, or something that don't have that much alchy in it?? Cause I'm going to this thing called the redneck sparks and EVERYONE is gonna be drinking, and its gonna make me wanna drink, but I don't wanna hurt my baby more than I probably already have.

The only amount of alcohol you should drink is a glass of red wine once every month or two. The reason that most doctors say its fine is because it gets the blood pumping a little more, gives you some relaxation, helps producem ore breast milk, etc etc. Also you can drink non-alcoholic coolers and beer, etc. Try doing that, I'm sure most people would support you in doing so, wouldn't you think. If you are uncomfortable with it then just say your not feeling well enough to try drinking, or maybe later, or just say you are allergic, or sugar these days upsets your stomache, so many reasons.
Don't feel like it is wrong to ask these questions, without someone asking who would know right? Also when someone judges you on asking a normal question (beleive me it IS normal to ask) it is most likely because they know absolutely nothing about it. So just let them think as they will.
Good luck and remember to have some fun.

It's not fair to get such a torrent of abuse from people when you are asking a simple question, one which has conflicting answers depending on who you speak to. There is no 100% sure answer that can be given, its all 'personal preference'. No-one else can tell you how to behave during YOUR pregnancy, so don't listen to people who are bullying you. The best person to speak to is your midwife, each midwife's advice seems to differ.
I didn't touch a drop during my first three months, mainly due to suffering with all day morning sickness, I didn't do much of anything! However, I am partial now to the odd shandy, made with low percentage beer and lemonade - I only have one of these probably once (maybe twice) a month. In this heat nothing cools you down like a ice cold shandy! Never really been a lover of wine, so never really thought about it, but one glass lower in percent wouldn't hurt - just one glass tho and shorts (vodka, gin anything like that) is a definate no-no! The percentage is too high and its too concentrated.
No one has a right to judge you for things you do during pregnancy and everyone is different. I am a very sensible mother-to-be and do everything by the book, but the odd low percent drink now and again won't hurt. I am a mother first, but I am still a person and I don't intend to live like a nun for 9 months. A happy Mummy = a happy Baby ;o)
This is only my opinion, but I hope that I've helped and given you some reasurrance that you are not a bad mother for having one drink. Believe me, I am sure there is MUCH worse out there!
Have fun and stay safe x

You are an alcoholic hon. I know that may sound harsh but it has validity to it. If the desire to drink any alcohol is so great that you are willing to put your baby's health at risk even slightly, then you have a drinking problem. I can't put it any other way. You need to really think about it, OK.
My wife is 6 months long at the moment. She has given up caffeine ( Starbucks and Soda) for nine months. Hey that's saving me about $10 a day or more. What she is drinking at the moment is juice, especially "White Sparkling Grape Juice". She is a Dr and she knows best what the baby needs. NO ALCOHOL!!
One more thing, don't go to Redneck Sparks. Stay home with some family and friends instead. You're a Mom now and need to be responsible. Welcome to parenthood honey!!
Listen to GinGin!! She has your anwer and more!

There is a lot of info missing here in order to give a valid response. I think the safest thing is to just avoid the alcohol completely. If you feel you need to drink then bring some juice or something. You don't have to explain to people why you aren't drinking, they should be smart enough to understand that you are pregnant and don't want to risk your unborn baby's health.

You really should think of your baby to be before doing any thing that could possibly harm it. It is not recommended that you drink alcohol when you are pregnant and if you feel you will have the urge to do so when you are around it maybe you should stay away from events that serve alcohol for the 9 months you are carrying.

Well, you are allowed a glass of red wine, anything more would be taking a risk. Im sure you dont want your baby to be mentally challenged or have two fingers missing or something.
Prevention is better than cure. Seeing how long you hold out will prove how much you love your baby. Make it a game if it makes you feel better.

No, don't drink at all. For the person that told you that one glass of red wine is good for milk production, you're not even producing the milk yet. Don't drink, it's not good for the baby. Don't go to the party if you think that you might be tempted. Better safe than sorry.

You should not drink any alcohol at all if tou are only in your first trimester(first 3 months)They then say that it is ok to only consume a small glass of wine after. Meaning maybe one beer and no more. The placenta is only able to absorb one glass, after that it will start getting to the baby.

Don't drink AT ALL. Drink some water or something. Your baby is more important than getting a little tipsy. Alcohol is poison to the baby.

Actually, doctors say that a beer every-now-and-then won't hurt you or your baby. My sister-in-laws doctor even MADE her drink 2 beers when she was 6 months pregnant because something wasn't forming right with the baby. I say you can drink ONE beer, and then drink soda. Who knows, with you being pregnant, you might take a sip and realize you don't even like it! If you feel bad about doing it, then DON'T!
