I have an iPod video, and my daughter has a Nano. I prefer my iPod since I can put so much more content on it.

The bad thing about mine is that it's so much bigger and heavier than her Nano.

The answer is a big "it depends". Some people like how small the nano is, while others are justifiably concerned that it might break too easily.

Some people are nuts who would longingly gaze into a video screen that is dwarfed by a business card, while others would consider it an annoying experience at best.

The answer you are looking for depends on your answer to these questions:

Do you like small gadgets so much that you would sacrifice features?

Is your daily commute passive (bus, train, etc) or active (walking, biking, driving)? Is there some part of your day when you have to sit down for a while and watch or read something?

Do you like just a couple of tracks off of each CD you own, or do you listen to the whole disc from start to finish?

My answers to these questions are most likely different than yours would be. When I had to make this choice, I did not feel comfortable spending $300, so I took my old 5GB iPod and paid $60 to get the battery (and the rest of the unit) replaced with refurbished parts, and mine now looks as good as new.

It really depends on what you are going to use it for. The Ipod Video definitely holds more songs and photos and of course Videos but, if you us it in a physical activity it can skip. If you are running skiing, really doing anything for a continuous 20 mins the video can skip. The 4 gig nano still holds a thousand songs and has a great battery life. It is obviously small and lighter.

Hey tigerbkid41,

Go for the iPod video simply because the iPod nano has too many problems. Besides, the iPod video can do a lot more and has bigger storage.

Video is bigger, has larger capacity and can play videos
nano is small, smaller capacity - cant play movies

I would buy the video but if size is a concern, get the nano.

Get the video ipod. The video iPod holds way more songs and you can watch music videos, movies, tv shows, or anything. It looks better and its easier NOT to lose. Nano is really small, easy to lose holds less songs and basically just sucks!

iPod video is better. get the 30 GB one which is only like 282 dollars if you buy it from amazon.com. the price is only a 33 dollar difference from the 4 GB nano. you will get over seven times the amount of space as well as more features [namely the video, photos, etc.]

good luck!

I'd say go with the video, or if you arn't a fat and lazy american on the computer and you workout, I would wait until the iPod Niki comes out and just buy that instead.
