My daughters ultra sound showed a big change (2 months) also, yet she had the baby right in between.... check with your doctor and I am sure she will measure you. 27 to 29 is only two weeks so it might not change at all... besides I have come to believe they come out when they are darn well ready no matter the due date..lol you can always call a nurses line and talk to them also.

the measurements by ultrasound is dependent on serveral factors, but to cut the long story short, what the ultrasound measurement tells you is that at the time of the study, the baby was estimated to be 29 weeks in size.
it may or may not affect your due date, but maybe you should expect the baby to come out plus or minus two weeks from the expected date, in which case it would still be acceptable.

Due dates really just help your ob know about when you'll have your baby. It's really just a guideline. They may change it every month or they may recognize it's arbitrary and leave it alone, but your baby will come when s/he is supposed to. There is even some evidence to suggest that 40 weeks gestation is based on bad health decisions (i.e. limiting weight gain instead of instructing the mother to eat a healthy diet) and the actual average gestation for a healthy pregnancy would be 41-42 weeks. But just like your menstrual cycle may vary from that of your friends and family so may the length of your pregnancy.

Only your OBGYN can really answer that. All these calculations are flexable. I mean think about it: some babies are born at not much more than 6 lbs and others are closer to 10 lbs... there is a huge varriance. It might not change the due date only the percentile that the baby is in.....ask the MD next time.

Nope. unless you are measure more then 3 weeks biggerin every place then they do not change your due date. It also has to measure that much bigger consistantly. But if you knew the first day of your last period then your due date is basically stuck in one spot no matter how big your baby is.

medicine still isn't an exact science. It probably means you have a nice big healthy baby. Mine were all larger and still came close to their normal due dates. I knew when I missed my first period and when I got pregnant. Except on on and they boggled that said I was pregnant a month earlier than I was. Ended up being a whole month waiting on a baby that was supposedly due in May that was born in June...that is more miserable than early believe you me....so enjoy but they can be wrong. Relax like everyone tells you a healthy baby is all you want anyways.

yes that will change your due date actually. Taht happened to me and my dr did change my due date by 10 days. Always figure that when you dr gives you a due date according to your period they say that you are going to have that baby anywhere from 2 weeks before to up to that 40th week. In my instance I went 2 weeks early with both of my children.

no. They will change how far along you are many times during your pregnancy.
All babies develop at different rates throughout pregnancy. They base where your fetus is on a standardized comparison. It means nothing to anyone but them.
So long as baby is healthy thats all that matters.
