I've heard different stories why goldberg left. any1 know the real reason he left?

For all his hype and talent, Goldberg wasn't, nor ever will be a team player. That is why he was let go by the WWE. He was a backstage politician in WCW, which is why he was allowed to have such a huge winning streak to start his career. Even though some greater talents than he cooperated with him(in some cases, unwillingly), because they believed it to be best for business, when it came time for Goldberg to put other wrestlers over, he refused. He would take time off when told he would have to lose, or fake an injury. When he got to WWE, he thought he could get away with the same crap, and unlike WCW, the WWE wrestlers went to Vince and said they wouldn't work with him. Bottom line is that you could be the best athlete, best worker, most talented etc, but without the help of your opponent, you look like crap. Goldberg just wanted to show up for the matches, squash his opponent, get a belt and go home. As you can see, he hasn't been missed. He was just a WCW response to Stone Cold Austins popularity, but unlike Austin, Goldberg had zero charisma and on the mic skills he rated about a -100. Add to that that he was a stiff wrestler who wouldn't work with other wrestlers, and that adds up to him not being invited back either.

At WrestleMania, Goldberg defeated Lesnar, with both men receiving a Stone Cold Stunner from Austin after the match. Lesnar and Goldberg had both gone undefeated for long periods of time, leading many fans to label a match between the two a "dream match". However, as both Lesnar and Goldberg were known to be leaving the company immediately after WrestleMania, the match was poorly received by the audience, who soundly booed both competitors. On March 31, 2004, Goldberg's contract expired and, following a short period of negotiations, was not renewed.

Since leaving WWE, Goldberg has primarily focused on his acting career. He has commented on his year with WWE in a highly critical fashion, arguing that his character was poorly utilised. In February 2006, several media outlets reported that Goldberg was in negotiations with the professional wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling; possibly in response to these rumors, semi-retired wrestler Warrior commented on his website that he would be interested in wrestling Goldberg in TNA should TNA approach him with such an offer. In a series of interviews conducted in June 2006, Goldberg stated that he was mildy interested in working for TNA, particular as his friend Sting had by then joined the promotion, but had several reservations.

He signed a 1 year contract rumored top be worth $3 million in 2003. His contract was up and he wanted more money than WWE was willing to pay him, so his contract was not renewed and he left.

He left because he said it was like a bad taste on his mouth. He said the reason why he came back was because of the children asking him when he was going to return to the ring. He didn't like the politics, he wanted more money and, he wanted to be more in control.
