Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - This is the most intelligent romantic movie that i've watched. But whether the ending is considered a happy one is disputable.

50 First Dates - This one is great too. Great plot and beautiful scenery! Definitely a happy ending...

The best (and my favorite) romantic movie of all time is "An Affair to Remember". If you want the remake, you can get "Sleepless in Seattle". I think the original still holds the record though.
