Thus this is the first line: 000
0 x 9 = 0

Second line you add a zero: 0000
5 x 9 = 45
* carry the four to the 8
5 x 8= 40 +4 = 44
*carry the four to the 1
5 X 1 = 5 + 4 = 9
Third line you add two zeros: 94500
So this is how it would look...

0000
94500

189 is 200 - 11, so you could also try (200 X 500) - (11 X 500) and do it in your head.

No, I can't. First, it's not your own homework you are wanting help with. Second, by your spelling of "homewrok", I can see either you need to study harder, or you need to pay more attention to details.
The whole point of doing homework is to reinforce the skills you are currently learning in class. Yes, sometimes it's hard. Sometime, you are completely unable to answer the questions put to you. In that case, getting the right answer from someone else only makes the situation worse. Your teacher believes you understand that concept, and moves on to harder concepts which use this concept as a foundation. If she or he realizes that you, and perhaps others, in your class have not yet grasped the concept, the teacher is able to go back over it to make sure you have a firm foundation of what you need to know before moving on to the next step.
You can't put a roof on a house until you have built the walls.

don't need a calculater. just multiply 5 x 189 and then add two zeros behind the answer
5x189=945 add two zeros behind ( 94500 ) is your answer
