All thoughts are some combination of chemical and electric (energy) reactions taking place in and around the brain, to that distinction doesn't mean much.

Why do people take the thought of God (or Goddess, or the Divine, or whatever spiritual powers they believe in) so seriously? Because it helps them to feel connected to the universe around them.

Most people are raised from birth with some understanding and belief that the world around them is more complex than they personally can comprehend. That complexity is usually attributed to some divine being. By believing in that diving being, people feel like they are connected to the universe, and (depending upon the faith) to the source/creator of the universe.

It also provides a focus to help explain why the universe exists, and how it all fits together. Most people don't get quantum physics. But even if they did, since one of the central principles of quantum physics is the perception and intention affect manifest reality, the belief in god would be a natural counterpart to that belief with god being the original perception and intention that originally manifested the reality we share.

This is an entirely different answer than if you had asked "Why do they take religion so seriously". While belief in god allows us to feel connected to the universe, and to attribute some meaning to its structure, people believe in religion because it makes them feel connected to other people. Sharing beliefs means you are not alone.

Everyone also has some beliefs that exist at their core, and that define how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. Many people use their religious beliefs as the foundation of their self identity and world view. That's why they get so fanatic when you challenge those religious beliefs. In effect you're challenging their entire concept of how they fit into the world.

So, it's not just a matter of neurotransmitters, synaptic gaps, and neural cognitive matrices. It's a question of connection, self-identity and having some foundational explanation for the complexity beyond personal understanding. That's why they take it seriously.

If the thought of God is merely a chemical reaction then so is any thought you have. That means that your family does not exist and are all just chemical reactions. That means that you don't really exist and are just a chemical reaction in my brain which means that you never asked this question. Thanks for the 2 points which I will never really receive since this is all just a chemical reaction.

often, for a chemical reaction to ensue, the debris ought to collide with a adequate volume of capability to attain the 'activation capability point' (Ea), and collide with the main suitable suited orientation to supply a reaction. this sort of reactant chemical components and their 'chemical affinity' additionally impression the activation capability required and hence the probability for a reaction to ensue. for example, Fluorine has a very low activation capability point, and "conveniently types compounds with maximum different components", as against a 'noble gas', which will purely react decrease than very particular situations and purely with particular components. the quantity of activation capability required interior the collision is set by way of a number of situations (those situations additionally relate to factors influencing the 'cost of chemical reaction') which incorporate: - rigidity - Temperature - Catalyst it fairly is extremely a everyday answer based from common intense college chemistry wisdom.
