My son took the bus all the time when he was younger and didn't have a car. He went everywhere. It was fine.

I have used it a lot in the past (over 10 years ago), and never had too much trouble, just your usual weird stuff that people traveling for as little as possible do, such as smoking pot on the bus, babies crying a lot, and the smell of people without hygiene products. Not to mention that the bathroom is on the bus (I don't recommend sitting in the back of the bus). One time the bus broke down, so we packed 2 bus loads on to one bus until the next major stop (that was great!). You basically get what you pay for. The last time I rode I took the Greyhound from Ft. Lauderdale FL., to Grand Junction Co. I took over 2 and 1/2 days, and was quite an adventure, but my ticket only cost $50, so depending on your point of view it was quite a bargain. Very safe though!

i dont see why not? it sucks asss. you meet the WEIRDEST people, see some strange stuff.
Stay where people are, and dont wonder off.
I rode from albany ny to columbus ohio. my brothers will be riding from albany to springfield MO.
its not comfy, its not fast, but its cheap, and reasonably safe so long as you're not off away from people in some of the 'icky' bus stations.
We've never had a problem.

If it doesn't crash and your fellow passengers leave you alone and there is no war in the area, or terrorist, and no natural calamity targets the bus and you have a low risk for developing hemorrhoids, I'll say its as safe as you can expect.

Yes, but your luggage might get lost like my husband's did. Best take a carry-on instead of putting it under the bus.

I have never had any problems, but I would bring along a neck pillow so you can sleep and some kind of puzzle book to keep your mind occupied.

It is much safer than a plane. At least if you do crash, the chances of living are much much greater. Sorry if I scared you
