I recently bought this RAM (512MB DDR 400) while on sale at CC. Now I read on the back of the package: "Upgrade for Systems that use JEDEC (generic) memory". What does this mean?

Is this memory any good? I bought it to use in a new home build computer that I hope to finish sometime this summer. I'm buying the hardware as it goes on sale.

But after reading this, I'm beginning to wonder about the Kingston RAM. I probably should give them a call.

But I'd like to hear from you guys first. Companies tends to sing their own songs.

RAM is RAM. If your motherboard can use dual channel, be careful which slots you put it in (they are color coded, so you will get much better performance with, say, two 512 sticks than one 1 GB stick if you put them in the correct slots.

Kingston has two quality grades of memory. Value RAM is the lower grade, known as generic, but I have been using it the whole time I've been using computers, because it's so readily available (at my local OfficeMax). I have never had a problem with the quality of Value Ram and I don't personally know anyone who has. It's fine. I currently have it in all three of our home computers.

By the way...Generic memory is made from chips that are not as rigorously tested and can therefore be sold to the consumer for lower prices. If you want to see what the supposedly better grade of memory will cost, try looking at prices at http://www.crucial.com

I used a Kingston 133x 16GB card, and after about 4gb of capturing, the digicam got here up with "card write blunders". Stopped employing the cardboard, and put in a SanDisk. each of the images were ok, transferred off without complications, yet couldn't overview card in digicam. This happened to me on a Nikon D300, a chum of mine has a Canon, and a similar aspect happened to him. purchase it the position there's a good go back coverage, and be certain you shoot a try problem, no longer a wedding ceremony. This happened about a three hundred and sixty 5 days in the past, stuck with SanDisk and go beyond in view that then. go beyond are incredibly low-priced, and not in any respect had a topic. EDIT - purchase a Wolverine or Epson image receive gadget. this is more lower priced than paying for sufficient playing cards to conceal the finished vacation. Even a netbook computing gadget with an exterior 500GB pocket pressure will be incredibly low-priced and small, round 350.00 for both.

Kingston is one of the best brands you can buy. In fact they might be the best out there. In computer memory Kingston is probably on top for vendors.

JEDEC is the standard for memory. It means it will work with any computer runninng 400mhz or less frontside bus. Is your computer ddr-400 or less? Then it will work
