Nope. Like aj1908 said, I'd never compare Kanye (or anybody else for that matter) to the Messiah, but no - as a rapper, he's just average. I guess because I know how his beats are made (my husband's an aspiring producer), I'm just not that impressed with him. His bouts of arrogance don't help either.
Right now, he's just the "flavor of the month."

I would never say that a man would rise to the level of the Messiah, that borders on the level of blasphemy, but K. West is a talent, none like we have seen in a while; his beats are tight, but so are the lyrics (entertaining and schooling you at the same time.)

Rap doesn't need a messiah. It needs talent.
I don't find anything relevant about rap anyway.
It's more about who can say the nastiest things and get away with it.
Bringing foul language and disrespect to a new level of acceptance.
