IF you were king of the world for a day what would you make people do?

You have complete control for 24 hours...what do you do with it? I don't want any lame a$s answers about peace on earth.... I mean what would you really love to see happen?

First of all, I'd just like to say I don't understand why several people mentioned making permanent changes to the system of government. You are only the absolute monarch for 24 hours Any laws you write will only be in effect for that long.

Here's how I would handle it.

1) Everyone will be immediately given a short open-mindedness test. Anyone who fails this test will be force-fed a strong dose of LSD and made to watch "Pink Floyd The Wall," "A Clockwork Orange," "Evil Dead," and other assorted mind-opening movies.

2) Anyone who scores really badly on this test will be fed the same dose, but put into a sensory deprivation tank (total blackness, no sound, no sensation) for the remainder of the 24 hours.

3) I would order electrical power to be completely shut down in all major cities, in such a way that would take at least a month to repair. Only places like hospitals that have generators would be able to have power. Reasoning: people are addicted to electricity and I think it would do them some good.

4) Everyone who fails a stringent physical, or anyone seen inside a fast food restaurant, will be forced to look at a picture of the insides of their arteries and read a computer projection of how long they can be expected to live with their current lifestyles, as well as what physical deteriorating condition is most likely to kill them.

5) Everyone will be required to think up 200 new ideas that haven't been done before. The ideas will be logged on a web site for future use.

6) Every illegal drug and narcotic will be sold legally at supermarkets, convenience stores, gas stations, etc. for the length of my reign. Hopefully, people will like this so much that they will want to keep it that way after I abdicate.

i would like for people to give up a % or their excess to those who don't have. The thing is is that there is enough on this earth for every single person, but due to greed and excess, the economics are lopsided. There would be no world hunger, or homelessness if finances were spread abroad based on the human condition. Then I would declare that people who helped other people would be the universal role model and they would be considered in this world to be at the top of what is called the success ladder, because of their big hearts and willingness to help others. The ball players, musicians, and movie entertainment fields would be at the low end of the success ladder.

I would really see people working together, helping neighbors.
I would love to see people off welfare,, so therefore , childcare would be free at the workplace,, so won't have an excuse.
I would also have on the job training.. if you want to learn how to be a chef.. you could go in without ever cracking open an egg...and then, when you are ready,,you start the job,,,move up in other words,,but you are still getting paid for the training. But, if you miss so many days,, you are out..and have to move to place for unemployed people...and they won't have the luxury of having hand out from the government.

It is so shocking how much my husband pays in taxes,, and we don't get one hand out,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!! not even finacial help w/ school,, nor scholarships!!!! Un-fair!

So, the bottom line is: every one will pull their own weight.

My parents have worked all their lives,,but the insurance premium kept going up and up,,so therefore,,they don't have medical insurance!!! so Un-fair!! They would have to pay over 1,500 a month, w/ a deductible of 4000.00

Since I am female, I'd be a Queen, you forgot that a woman would most likely be better!

I would kick Bush and his cronies out, I would revamp D.C., I would make laws that could not be changed regarding women (equal pay, jail time for sexual harrassment, rapist go to the gas chamber along with wife beaters, etc.).

Anything having to do with porn (internet, magazines, etc.) would be outlawed and a heavy punishment for it when found.

Drug abusers would be put in very good centers to detox and taught how to live a better more productive life.

Social Security would be changed drastically. All those with a certain amount in the bank, with a home, with other income, etc. (those well off) would not be given S.S. it would be given to those that really need it.

The AMA would be held accountable for all the garbage it controls (along with the drug companies) and heavy restrictions would be put into place to control both. Doctors could not charge the fees they do and hospitals would not be money-making entities.

Lawyers and Judges would be put on notice, heavy fines and jail time for unethical behavior, and they would adhere to the Consititution, not their own judgements. Lawyers would, like doctors, have a cap on what they could charge.

Gosh...I should see if they'll let me be Queen for a day...I could do a lot of good!!!! : ) Where's my crown?

I don't feel that "Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward Men" is "lame" but I would make people actually sit in a room and talk to one another.

We'd all get along, honestly, if we looked into one another's eyes and discovered we're all the same.

Making people do what you want them to do, is counter productive to achieving your objective.

Making someone perform an action (controlling) is not a sign of being a King.

Giving man freewill to do as he wants is the true sign of power.

Only allowing people to do as they want will reveal their true heart and character

If I were King for the day.......I already am King today, and so are you if you can understand it.

I want to try to enjoy each moment that I have left, love my fellow man, help others achieve their goals, that is what a King does in life.

Equality amongst us...more jobs and opportunities for growth and expansion...I'd do this by eradicating all illegal immigrants AND the companies who have taken jobs from Americans in the name of greedy profits...I'd encourage companies to make more business and give them tax incentives...the companies who sold out to foreign competition..I'd tax at a HIGH profit tax bracket...for when individuals are working..they are assets to our economy...when they can not work they become government liabilities.....it is a shame the government can not see this!!!
(ie..okay..."they" get good X produced much cheaper...for wages in other nations are cheaper....YET---when the good is shipped back to "us"---there price is not cheaper..go figure!)

I'd also lower the prices of gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i will decree in the morning that every person over 18 in rich nations donate to my kingdom 3000$ and whoever disobeys shall be guillotined.then in the afternoon, i will give the money to the poor nations in africa and asia, except north korea by which time i've already ordered annihilated and erased off the map. in the evening, i will host a by invitation only party at my palace(disney land) i'll invite all the hot girls in YA! and you will be my guest of honor.
