Wow... that's a tough one.

For family values, the old shows of Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and the recent Seventh Heaven (althouth that got less so after about the 3rd season).

For writing, M*A*S*H is in a class all by itself.

The best sitcom ever is Friends because virtually everyone can relate to someone on that show.

And in my own fave category (Girls Kicking Butt), there is Buffy, Charmed, Xena and Alias. :-) LOL

That's a tough one, but I'd have to say The Golden Girls. There you have four of the most talented women in television, including Bea Arthur and Betty White. Not only are these women amazing actresses, but the writers in that show were outstanding. One day I watched the show and just listened to the lines they said. The writing is just extremely clever, I just don't know how they did it. It took some real talent to write the scripts in that show.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. in the mid 1960's with Robert Vaughn, David McCallum and Leo G. Carroll. It tapped into the James Bond spy craze of the time.

Vaughn - who is a tremendous actor and very underrated - played Napolean Solo and McCallum played his Russian sidekick Ilya Kuriakan. Carroll played their chief, Alexander Waverly.

Lots of action - lots of pretty women.

And with all the crap that's available on dvd, why isn't a truly great program like this available in the US?

24, no contest. It is action-packed, thrilling, full of plot twists, and its not afraid to kill off some main characters once in a while. *mourns the death of all the characters killed in season 5* oh yeah, and it just got signed on for THREE more seasons....so all the way to season 8? Yah, im sure that means its pretty good ;)

and Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) will kick your *** if you mess with him.

"I Love Lucy". All sitcoms are still mining what that show pioneered. The fact that it is still revelant after all these years attests to the durability of the scripts and concepts.
