White Man In Hammersmith Palais by the Clash. It took punk out of the thrash/ gonzo/ three chord trick and elevated it to new standards of creativity, lyrical awareness and hell, there's even a fourth chord in there..... by the way, any answers to this question mentioning the words 'Boy Kill Boy' will be reported to Yahoo for abuse on the grounds of basic common decency.....and... to Happy Cat... 'duh' yourself... I'm in the UK and picked up this question, and anyway, why should the question 'What is the best UK punk track' not be asked anywhere on Yahho answers - the asker probably wants to exclude the Ramones (coz any of theirs would be a good answer) and part time punks from the USA such as Blondie....

'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols. The definitive punk single, it was an attack on the ideals and institutions of Britain, delivered in Johnny Rotten's trademark sneer. The song is summarized in the line "There is no future ... in England's dreaming," which became a de facto position statement for British punk.

Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols.

Best is subjective; this song has to be up there with the best if only because it is so well known.
