You need to be 100% sure that it is, in fact, a yeast infection. If you have never been to a doctor before (for a yeast infection) then you need to go this first time to be sure that it's not something else.

It could be any number of sexually transmitted diseases. Unless you know for sure that you have not had sexual contact with anyone ever.

It's not something to ignore and it's not something to treat at home unless you know from personal experience that what you are experiencing is a yeast infection.

Based on your question, I am guessing that you haven't had one before or that you haven't been to a medical professioal about one before.

If you absolutely cannot afford a doctor, go to the store, buy the 7 day or 3 day treatment kit. For someone first using a home "kit" like Monostat, the longer kit is better than the 1 day kit.

The kit usually contains either a cream in a tube with a long skinny stick thingy that you use to insert the cream into yourself. If not the cream, there are things that look like a big pill, and a skinny aplicator stick as well. You need to make sure this pill thing gets put up there properly and far enough.

Read the directions. Read them twice. Make sure you are clean "down there" and make sure you refrain from having sex with anybody for a few days.

If itching/burning is driving you crazy, read the boxes...some of the kits contain an extra little tube of special cream that you can simply rub on the outside of the problem area and it will help a lot with the pain and burning/itching.

You should feel relief within two days and gradually feel better 100% within a week.

Until you treat it. It does not go away on it's own.
