That is actually a myth. Elephants being afraid of mice is something that is humorous because how would something so big be frightened of something so tiny?

They don't like things that make noise and move quickly because they can't figure out what it is. But, they aren't afraid of them.

I think elephants fear the quick, sudden movements of mice. It's a fairly common fact that larger animals are alerted (in this case, threatened) by sudden movements.

I heard that it's because they're afraid that they'll get into their ears. True? I don't know! but that's what I was once told.
