With 1200x magnification there are a lot of things you will be able to see. Naturally you will need some microscope slides

Try some of the following:
1) Epithelial tissue from the inside of your mouth - see the cells within human tissue. If you stain the cells you can spot the nucleous.
2) Water - from a river/dam/pond - lots of interesting microscopic life forms
3) Red blood cells
4) Algae (spyrogyria, etc) - see cell walls and some internal structures
5) Skin cells - you shed hundreds of thousands every day
6) Go wild on every day things that you eat or drink - eg Orange Juice, tissue from that steak (before it's cooked), etc...

Wow! 1200x is a lot. At my school we had 40x and 80x microscopes and we could see cells in leaves and stuff. I guess at 1200x you could see the finer details of the cell (clrearly differentiate nucleus, maybe even see DNA strands?).
