You can tell, because they will like try in any way to be close to you. But remember some friends just try to be close to you anyway. But like if you go to the movies and they get upset that ya'll don't sit by one another when there is a group of people with you then thats one way to tell, but if she doesn't know the people in the group then it's understandable that she gets upset, because she doesn't want to be alone.

You probably won't. I know that I have a very close and touchy relationship with my guy friends. {Not in a gross way.} But I hug them when I see them and touch their hands when I talk to them just so that they know I'm paying attention to them. It may be hard to notice when a friend has a crush on you, but I know from experience that guys/girls will boost up their eye-contact.

Well if you also like this friend then you should just go up to him or her and ask. Other signs are: shyness, problems talking, avoiding, dresses nice (takes better care of themselves) and on and on. Good luck!
