The two are about equal now. Though in the past it was true. Its more a case of the mac being able to support graphic user interfaces while PC's were stuck with text commands

Industry standard. A Mac with handling graphics seems to perform better than on a PC.

That's what I've always heard. But I do digital images on a PC. Just make sure your monitor's calibrated, and you've got a decent graphics program.

Its programming makes it alot easier to work on, and doesn't crash like a PC.
