Independence day was signaling the end of the war.
USA won its independence from European powers.
It became a seperate nation. not an extension of European powers such as Canada is.
It was a war with explosive power, gun powder, cannons, and the explosions could be seen for miles. As fireworks.
So to celebrate independence on the 4 th of July they exploded the rest of their gun powder in a fireworks display. Been doing it every since to celebrate our independence from European powers

Fireworks were first made in China. Not sure how or why they were brought to the US and used to celebrate the 4th, but love to watch them and glad they are. Oooh, look.......sparklies!!!
