There are numerous ways to show respect to your country - to start with stand up and pay respect to your national flag when the national anthem / song is played !
Paying the taxes are just the very basic - if you want to enjoy all the amenities provided by the government in terms of infrastructure, roads, electricity, saving the border of our country, then, it is obvious you pay the taxes - no second thoughts about that.
If one have the intention of clearing the corruption of the politicians - then, hey don't shout from the side - join politics and if you have it in you - then you will succeed in removing the corruption, otherwise, throughout your life - you will be creeping about one thing or the other.
there is plenty of opportunities available everyday to show respect to your country - start by saying at least - I LOVE MY COUNTRY

Well, its a tough question. Truth is i don't love my country as much as those that have been thru civil war(s). If you want a quantitative figure, well i can give 6/10.
The missing 40% could be attributed to the realities that my country's govt have been shoving to us. Less jobs, high cost of living, no freedom of speech, and extremely high social competitiveness.
As for the 60%, well, if one day, we happen to be attacked by terrorists or war comes to my homeland. I will definitely take up arms and defend my country.
Thats bout how i would show love for my country

You can show love and live anywhere in the world-- like England, the USA, Canada, Mexico, China, Russia--- the list can go on for ever and love the part you are in.
It isn't the country's fault that you live in that makes this world in the shape it is in, it is the people and there belief's that have this world at each others throat.
So yes show love for your country because two wrongs don't make a right.

Of course, I live here, it is my home, so I should show my pride and love dor it. ONE thing I just don't like about it is the dependency people have on fast food. It is kind of Embarassing, because people get so obese from eating SO MUCH of it. But, I do love the USA nonetheless.

I'm Personally Mexican born, but, Hell yeah I'll show love to the U.S.A. all the way! Why would you blame the U.S. government? If it wasn't for them you could be living in a damned tent runned by Al-Qaeda for God's Sake(I apologize for using you as a defence Jesus Christ).

How does one show 'love' for a place, an ideal? Waving a flag? Singing a song?
