Slavery, in America, has been over for more than a century. Why do blacks still use it to stereotype white people? No one alive today experienced slavery, so no one has the right to wipe their feet on the deaths of the thousands of slaves that died before they were freed. I think it's time to move on from the past so that we can build a better future. Does anyone agree? Explain.

I, too, am tired of those Blacks who continually use the slavery card for personal gain, and/or attention. Slavery is over and we must move on! Nevertheless, and given the complex and sometime discriminatory society that we live in, I do feel that the RACE card will be played for a long time to come. Granted, there have been many instances where SOME "knuckle-headed" Blacks have used the race card to justify their unlawful and/or undesirable actions/behavior. In my opinion, people like this are extremely pitiful individuals who bring new meaning to the term "wolf crier." With that said, I also feel that there are many instances where the pulling of this particular card is well warranted. In a nutshell, slavery is over and done, but racism and discrimination is alive and well.

Note: Whereas I do feel that we should know the history of our ancestors and embrace it, we are not in the position to take on that history simply because that particular phase in Black history is long gone.

I agree, but here's what most folks black or any other don't realize. All races are actually slaves and have been since man was designed. The concept of slavery does not originate from humans it originates from other more older technologically advanced civilizations. Humans are not on top of the food chain and are used much in the same way as humans use other lower animals except on a more sophisticated level. Blacks just happen to be the 1st race created as manual slave laborers, but the rest of the races are or have been used in much of the same way throughout history. Today we are all what are called economic slaves, same concept disquised in a different package. This may seem far fetch and crazy sounding but do a little research and you may find that the history an science we have been taught have for the most part are lies, designed to keep the sheeple from knowing what is really going in order to maintain control and dominance. If anyone dares to look outside of the box that they have been locked into they might see a much bigger picture. If you really think about it, if humans have not been pitted against one another based on all the divisions especially race, then humans to me would not have a care of what others look like, but how they act. No matter what type of body you currently operate you are not your body you are a spirit using the body you where born into to play and experience human life on earth. Below may shed some light on other influences that control and manipulate how asleep and the unaware see this reality. Keep and open mind and check these videos out, you may find something that will answer alot of questions you may thought upon on your own. This stuff may disturb you but if you can handle learning a different perspective than what you have been fed, it may liberate your enslaved mind.

Slavery ended and blacks were "freed" but that was not the end of it. Have you heard of the Jim Crow Laws? Below is a link to a site on it. Please read it and become enlightened.

People living today; my parents; the baby boomers; were ALIVE when blacks were still being treated inhumanly. They were discriminated against and hated just because of their skin color. No they were not slaves any more, but in American terms, I would hardly consider them truly free.

Moving on is the way to go I agree, but it is very hard for some who have been too severely impacted by all this.

Think about this: wouldn't it be really hard to simply "get over" it if someone had brutally hurt you or your family. It would be possible, but it would take years and years of working on your issues to overcome your bitterness and hatred. And even then, you will always remember the pain.

This is what happened to an entire race of people.

I agree. We have no control over what happened in the past, over a century ago. All we can do is learn from mistakes and make positive changes. Sure we may still make mistakes along the way, but that is just part of being human.

I do agree. I hate when black people feel like I owe them something because I am white. My family never kept slaves. I am Jewish for crying out loud. My family were slaves at one point. It is time to move on with our lives and stop living in the past.

segregation was still commonplace into the 1970s, and lynchings only really disappeared in the years following wwii.

black americans in their 50s now can remember being made to sit at the back of the bus, and not being allowed into the best restaurants (except as tuxedoed waiters). black americans in their 50s now may well have had parents, uncles or even cousins who were lynched - or threatened with it.

america will have done with its slaving history when it elects its first black president.

if there are still groups like the KKK or hate groups, then it is necessary to pull out the race car, definetely, ok I dont like the race card thing because the people in africa were the one who suffered and I am african and we barely speak of slavery, so definetely to diminish hate groups we must continue to the race card, but did u guys also know that Mr Louis Farrahkan was blaming Jews for blacks problems, how stupid?

It will NEVER be a black president, so stop dreaming. And yes , I'm sick of their whining all the time, for crying out loud they get anything they want, and don't have to lift a finger for it. BUT, seems like its the only thing blacks are good at, whining and blaming people

because white people still see black people as lower than them.o.k first thing a white person think when they see a black person with baggy pants is that they r on drugs or have a gun or didn't finish high school or has no jobs or is homeless. its no less than thinking of u as a slave
