This, is a damn'ed tough quesiton. Its a mater of perspective ok? Are we talking SOCIALLY with the interactions or the actual YEARS?

1888- Otto Von Bismark said "The next war is going to be fought when some dumb bastard shoots someone in the Balklands"- Guess where The Duke of Prussia was shot, triggering WW 1 in 1914? The wars SHOOTING technically ended in 1918- only because both sides had managed to almost kill every man. Can't have a war without death, unfortunatly.

Then you had WW 2- which, according to Germanys records wasn't supposed to be started until 1950. Hitler wanted revenge, and wanted the war so he started with a false propaganda attack supposedly from Poland, in 1939.

However, it could be successfully argued that WW 2 was simply a continuation of WW 1 based on the social problems which caused WW1 had not been fixed. Indeed, Adolph Hitler INSISTED that when France surrendered the same rail car that Germany was forced to surrender in was reused when it was Frances turn to sign the surrender documents. The only reason why WW 2 ended in Germany was that Germany had literally been beaten down door to door right into Hitlers office in 1945.

The Japanese, had their versions of WW 1 called the Russo-Japanese war where they were beaten in 1904.

It could be argued, even today, that WW 1 is NOT over.
Guess what? Over 118 years have passed and their still fighting in Kosovo, Bosina, Croatia,,,,,THE BALKLANDS ARE STILL FIGHTING!

There was no World War for 1913 years after the Death of Christ.

The First World War was between 1914 & 1918.
The II World War was between : 1939 & 1945 to be exact, it started on 1St. Sep1939 & ended ion 2nd September, 1945.

There is no chance for the II World War as it is. But if there is,, that will last only for a few days, they say!

Hope we ( no body?) won't be here to witness & verify it. So these words are final.

In the main-land of europe:
- WW1 started in 1914 with the assasination of a prince of royal blood in hungary
- WW1 ended in 1918 with the signing of an international treaty (sorry do not remember the name of this treaty)

WW2 started in (this varies from country to country) so 1933-1940 (last year the netherlands). For every country the starting year is the year of the war-declaration or the year that Germany invaded their country.

WW2 Ended this is also for every country different - it is the year the country was liberated.
