Just an exterminator in your home. We had this problem last summer, and after someone came out, I haven't seen a single earwig.
Now, if I could just get rid of those spiders...

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear about your pest problem, and I hope this is helpful to you.
Diatomaceous earth is a safe and effective way to control earwigs in the home. One application in key spots (bathroom, baseboards, window frames) can be a long-term repellent.
To trap earwigs, spray a newspaper lightly with water, roll it up loosely and secure with a string or rubber band. Place on the ground near earwig activity. The next morning pick up and discard the paper in a sealed container.
Another method to trap earwigs is to take a shallow, straight-sided container and fill it half full with vegetable oil. Clean the trap daily; the oil can be re-used.
Best wishes to you.

LOL so there are other Chicago suburban tri-levels with this problem. Some years are better than others. Haven't seen any this year. Next year we get locusts.

they're often an outdoors difficulty entering into at the same time as the inhabitants builds up or some thing takes position to disturb them...a heavy rain can cause them to bypass alongside with a dry spell after the moist season. verify climate stripping for the exterior doorways and treating the exterior alongside the beginning likely will quit them.

I know it sounds too easy.....but mix up a solution of Ivory liquid soap and water (fairly strong) and hunt around the foundation of your house. Soak the ground around the area. Also, if you wet the thresholds of all the entrances with the solution...they won't cross it. Also...if you have potted plants, water them with a weaker solution of Ivory soap & water. If you find one of the little critters....wet him down with the soap solution.....& watch him roll over & die. >>>>Soak 'em where you find 'em. It's alot cheaper and safer than using the pesticides....and it works alot better!
