Hard to say what direction it will go, but it definately will be different. 100 years ago there weren't TVs, refrigerators, air conditioning, stereo music systems, jacuzzis, gameboys, ipods, cell phones, etc. Women weren't allowed to vote then.
Maybe by 100 years from now, we'll see even faster air travel, Plasma TVs or some new kind built into every room of a house, with full interaction with phone, internet, fax, etc. There will be voice activation instead of typing, more artificial intelligence with robotics that do cleaning and other service duties.
Perhaps cancer and numerous other diseases will be curable and people will live significantl longer. Air-cars for traveling to work, more direct telecommuniting.
It would be interesting to see what it ends up being like.

It all depends on our political leaders if they decide to go to war with each other we may not have to worry about what the world will be like because there may not much left of it if they decide to use nuclear warfare, but if we are still here there will be an obesity problem due to the technological advances in everything to make our lives easier and time saving,no one will have to get up to do anything it will be done just by thinking about it!

China in the U.S. will start World War 3 within the next 30 years in a struggle with eachother to gain control over the world's last remaining oil reservers. We will descend into a nuclear winter, and all governments will collapse. We will devolve into tribal societies, until one or two groups can manage to pull themselves together and take over other tribes. And then the whole cycle of modern human history will repeat itself.
