Thanks for explaining how it got on the ceiling... I was expecting something pretty wild. Your story is believable. I saw ketchup do the same thing.
Try blotting some bleach on the area to lighten it up some.
Afterwards, take a bottle of white liquid shoe polish and dab some over the spot(s). Repeat as necessary until it matches the surrounding area. Be careful not to rub the area too hard. The ceiling consistency is brittle.

The easiest way is to use a wash cloth and some hot water. Just work it until it loosens and comes off. Then dip the rag in some straight bleach an dab the spot. This will whiten but will take off the popcorn. to fix that you can go to the local weekend warrior store and pick up a spray can of ceiling texture. Follow the directions on the can and all will be well with your world.

Make a mild solution of vinegar, water, dawn and make the water very hot. Put this in a spray bottle. Spray the stain wait a few seconds and dab with a soft terry towel. Repeat making sure the solution stays hot to very warm. If you have no ladder you can do this from a chair and tie the towel to the end of a broom handle. Try your best not to rub and just dab.

pass to domicile Depot and ask for a ceiling scraper. you placed it on a lengthy deal with and fix a bag to it. Get a one gallon pump sprayer and fill it with warmth water. Spray and section about 3ft x 3ft. at a time. enable it sit down about 30 seconds and scrape it off. Empty out the room once you try this. inspite of the bag this is nevertheless messy. Be prepared to excellent the ceiling. once you're taking the popcorn off you'll see each of the drywall tape that became used. I chosen to get a pair cans of texture spray so the ceiling imperfections will be hidden. excellent with a good primer and paint 2 coats. good success!

I'd go w/ a rag w/ warm water. We have that type of ceiling too, get stuff on it fairly often....but we have the sparkly stuff spread throughout too. If it does anything you usually can't really tell due to the texture, but you can just touch up w/ paint as well, you'll never be able to tell, we've had ours painted a couple of times over the yrs.

Very simple. Get a old toothbrush and some laundry detergent. It should take it off easily. If there is a stain left dab bleach on it and you should have a clean ceiling in no time. Good luck!!

If you wet a popcorn ceiling it will come down kernel by kernel. I would recommend what Ben said....perhaps a nice shade of burgundy.

a dampened toothbrush with a cleanser like comet. something abrasive, but go gently. If that fails, believe it or not, i would try toothpaste...amazing what that stuff will clean up.
