The entire world would look very different, not just the US. The European powers were prepared to give full diplomatic recognition to the CSA until the battle of Antietam. Had that all happened, I doubt there would have been a unified USA to counter Hitler and Japan. Perhaps the Soviet Union would have won instead of the axis powers, perhaps Hitler would have come out on top. I don't think that would have been a good thing. No, the US was destined to play on the world stage and the course of history has been transformed. All for the good. Lincoln quoted scripture when he said a house divided against itself cannot stand. We would not have survived those world threats to come if we did not stand together as one nation.

In 1860, the USA was still a crazy political experiment. The Europeans fully expected us to fall apart, as we almost did in the Civil War. Their feudal system with monarchies was the natural order of things, they believed. We said that the natural order of things was freedom and God-given rights to every man. That idea is what ended slavery.

It is hard to say what the USA would look like if the CSA had won their independence.
Are you asking what the USA would look like geographically? It would look much as it does today only without VA, the Carolinas, TN, GA,LA, TX,AL, MS, and ARK. I wonder if Florida would still be part of New York , or Cuba or whoever it really belongs to!
There are so many "ifs" involved here. The Confederate States of America didn't actually want to become a seperate country they were driven to desperate action by the discriminatory attitudes and actions of jealous and greedy northern legislators.
Although I am very proud of my southern heritage I am glad that the war for states' rights was lost by the confederacy. The USA is a better and stronger country with the inclusion of the southeast and Virginia even though the country suffered forover 100 years from the aftermath of the war and there are some wounds which perhaps have not yet healed.
Happy 4th of July y'all!

Difficult to say for sure, but one of the prominent ideas was to take Cuba, Mexico, New Mexico and Arizona as part of a Confederate Empire. The USA and the Confederacy most likely would have come to blows again over the settlement of the West. In social development, the Confederacy would have come to resemble South Africa, and probably would have sided with Germany in both world wars. It's a good thing they lost.

There probably would have been contined secessions every time one state had a gripe with any federal policy. There probably wouldn't be a U.S. anymore, or at least it would only include a handful of states. The North American continent would probably look more like Central America.

Well there would be 24 hour episodes of Jerry Springer cuz we all know southerners love that! Also our education standards would be extreamly low, there probably would still be slavery but im sure over time slaves would have realized that they out numbered us and they would have turned around and killed us all...

We might still be at war. And there's nothing to say that a second or third war may not have destroyed the Confederacy.

Well, there would probably still be slavery. And we would be eating much more corn bread and speaking with a southern drawl.
