Overall, I think it really doesn't matter. Until recently, I was certain the Cardinals were going to the Series, but now they are a mess so I am not sure. Still, it doesn't matter, whichever team goes will just get swept by the AL team, which will be the Tigers or the White Sox. Right now the top NL team is the Mets, so I guess I should pick them.

The St. Louis Cardinals. They were my pick last year and faltered, but I'm going to go with them again. They are a solid team with good pitching and a balanced offense.

Carpenter is having another excellent year. And they have some decent performers in Suppan and Marquis.

The bats are where it's at, though. The top of the lineup is better than average with Eckstein, Edmonds, Rolen and Pujols.

This should be enough in a very weak NL this year.

Being a die-hard Reds fan for 31 years I would say the Reds but I am also a realist. I would probably say either the Cardinals or the Mets. I believe the Cardinals once they get completely healthy will still be hard to beat.

The mets will absolutely go to the world series. NO doubt it. They have starting pitching, middle relief, setup men, a closer........and how about that diverse offense........speed (reyes, beltran), power (beltran, delgado, floyd, Wright), fundamentals (LoDuca). And don't forget they got some veteran leadership in franco, glavine, martinez, and delgado.

The mets are stacked, but the Astros have Clemons now. I'll say the Astros again.
