In my experience, the food is usually better than other 4th of July Picnics.

Pretty much like going to a straight 4th of July picnic. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Fireworks, etc.
What did you think it would be like?

Hmm well I think that you go and hang out with others and eat and drink and have a good time talking and enjoying each others conversation. There may be fireworks and there may be games or activities like Frisbee volley ball or croquet. there may even be jello wrestling or mud wrestling depending on the caliber of the community you are associating with.
At the end of the evening you will go home.
Pretty much like going to any 4th of July celebration.
