Unfortunately, there is no way to get a non-renewable resource back. Only with technology can we try to maintain our lifestyles. Have no fear though, we'll figure it out, or we'll go without.

We can't get nonrenewable resources back without recycling them. However, many are synthetic now, so we make them anyway. The other thing to keep in mind is the earth isn't even close to near capacity.

That's why they're called NONrenewable--we can't get them back. Actually, they can be renewed, but it takes hundreds of thousands of years for coal, oil, and natural gas deposits to reform from organic matter.
