Since you are focused on one-of-a-kind items, you might consider placing ads in some magazines targeted at the mid-range upscale market.

Offer the ability for customers to design their own pieces, or have you design them.

Donate some lower-end pieces to local charities for silent auctions - this will enlarge your market awareness.

You're competing with China.

I would open a stall at a large Flea Market. Lots of traffic. OR, I would contact anyone with a jewlery stall at a flea market.
This should be COD. You may be able to place on consignment.
Retail stores are hard to crack, and 30 days with discount terms are expected. They expect a markup of 50-60 % of retail. Your cost, 40-50 % of the retail.
