If the french lost..then that means they didn't score the winning goal...

but I don't think that the french lost...(after reading the other persons answer)

I assume you mean the final and they lost due to pure frustration at the Italians brilliant tactics.
Look at Zidane getting sent off,
and exhausted Henry taken off,
and Vieira carried off, then what chance did they have?
