open the door

thats funny. I once had the same problem when I moved an old Bianchina junk yard car from colorado to texas. When we got home I noticed a mouse nest in the exhaust pipe. In order to get the mouse out (b/c I couldn't reach in and risk being bit!) I put a medium size chunk of cheese (smelly cheese) about three feet from where I thought the mouse was (you could leave your car door open) and then wait until late at night (quiet!) when you see the mouse come out then you can: A- kill it with a bb gun (very inhumaine & you need to be a good shot!) B- move the car or in your case shut the car door.

the best way to get the mouse out is to place a cat inside your car

And see there will be the famous cat and mouse fight
You can enjoy the show and also get the mouse out

I am curious to know how the mouse got inside the car in the first place. IF it were me, I would try the ideas mentioned and if that didn't work, borrow a neighbors cat...just kidding.

Add a cat or two. Both neutered/fixed already.

Get a screamer can spray.

Get that rat trap, they check-in; get locked inside that contraption.

Leave doors open overnight. Only in a non high crime area! Turn off the dome light, or pull its fuse plug if no on/off switch. Warning this could lead to a cat or animal spraying its territory into the vehicle, which would cause a 2nd problem.

They sell an aromatic product that will repel and poison the mouse.
Get a cat and put it in the car. Either borrow one or use the family cat ~ the younger the better.
Eeek. I feel for you. But fix it TODAY because you know how those little demons like to chew...could ruin your electrical systems.

True story, a guy at work just got rid of a chipmunk in his car. He used a rat trap and a walnut, it solved his problem.
