I went ti my first check up with my ob-gyn and I told her about the pains that I am feeling in my back. This my first time being pregnant and she states that some women have back pains while pregnant. I am also pregnant with twins, so I don't know if it is normal to have back pains so early in your pregnancy. I guess I will wait to see what my doctor says when I go in for my 2nd check up. Can someone share some knowledge my way that is pregnant or had kids before.

Wow...congratulations! What a coincidence but, when I was reading this, I wondered if you were having twins becuase, I have twins and symtoms like backache, that normally occur in the later trimesters, often times, occur earlier when you are having twins. Yes, this is normal. You may even go to the bathroom more often too, because of the extra weights effect on your bladder. I had two healthy girls, my twins are 21 now and they were fraternal. Best wishes to you, for a safe pregnacy and delivery, too.

There is really no such thing as a "normal" pregnancy. Every woman is different and every woman is different with each pregnancy.

That said, back pain is a common problem in early pregnancy and late pregnancy.

You can start pre-natal yoga (classes, DVD or Video) now and watch your posture to ensure you are putting as little strain on your back as possible. If your insurance is good, your OB can refer you to a physiotherapist who can teach you some exercises for relief and massage your lower back.

Sometimes, the pelvic ligaments start stretching very early and this, can cause terrible back pain, but two months is a bit early for that.

I hope you'll feel better soon.

Congratulations on the twins. You must be thrilled. Have a happy and healthy nine months.

I've had 4 kids with 2 different wives. The first one had no back pain with any of our 3 girls. My 2nd wife had horrible back pain with our son, and had them from about 2 1/2 months until about 6 months pregnant. So yes it can be normal, but I would make sure to check it out with your doc so that you can have peace of mind. And congratulations on twins. :)

Well I'm a mother of 2, and with both of my pregnancies I had a lot of back pain, but it didn't start that soon, but since you are pregnant with twins I'd say you shouldn't worry. But if the pain gets worse go to see your doctor. By the way CONGRATULATIONS!!

Well my girl friend is preg. She was complainging of back pains somewhat. She was scared about it so she went to see the doctor about it. Everything was fine with her. Some stress was involved but, to know and be safe for you and your fetus, go to the doctor and let them examine you again. Take an ultra-sound to be sure.

yeah it's normal. as with twins u will tend to have more weight then others so try exercising daily n try to sit straight. keep ur posture straight always.don't bend from ur back but bend ur nees if u wanna pick something from below. don't over exert urself.
