The Joy Luck Club was pretty brutal. To be serious, anything with Tony Jaa is great. Ong Bak or Tom Yung Goon.

Zatoichi, Japanese blind samuri, pretty nice.
Any Bruce Lee movie, but they usually don't have swords...
Jackie Chan's earlier movies, but they might seem a bit... "slower" than the movies now. They're not really slow, but its a different style of fighting.
Jet Li's movies, like the new one, Fearless
Also, Shaolin Soccer, even though theres not really fighting, just fun

Hi, if you know tamil or any of the indian language try to watch the cool movie "PUDHUPETTAI" starring Dhanush. The film is action packed with full of violence. Check out.

i don't know about violence but 'Ong Bak' movie has lots of real good stunts. =D its a pretty old movie though. since 2003. if you haven't seen it, you should see it.
