Well I am a puertorican white looking girl married to a black man and we happend to live in florida..... well you see a lot of interacial couples in florida...... but i can tell you everynow and then some people are going to give you looks of death...in florida there is a lot of racial issues.. but at the end the hell with them if you guys are happy that is all that counts..... just learn to over look "looks" i know some people like my sister that stuff like that piss her off she is married to a black man too but when someone looks at them funny she get all mad and down their level saying things like wht the **** you looking at and stuff like that,no dont do that i just look away and ignore them because ignorant people like that feed their dumb ideas such as if you are not like me or my color im superior than you and you ignoring them just make you look bigger and better than them...so if you and your fiancee are comming to florida the first thing to learn is tolerance patience and the best and most important learn to ignore... you guys are going to be fine,, good luck.

I am white and my wife is black, We live in Greenville SC, and each day it becomes more accepted. I have noticed people in larger city's seem to treat us a little better vs small racist towns. As far as Florida is concerned... I have heard that it isn't the best place for an interracial couple but I cannot say for sure.
Greenville is a good place, not nearly as big as Tampa but it is a fairly large city (its got all of the advantages of a big city but it but is peaceful like a small town), We love it here. We have also seen a lot of B/F & W/M couples in Atlanta. No matter where you go you will come across racist people, you just have to over look it and not let it get to you.

Tampa is a big city, so I'm sure they're more progressive. Especially more young people there. Florida really doesn't measure up to negative stereotypes of the south. There are lots of relocated people (ie. retirees), immigrants and people of all colors.

You are probably going to want to check it out anyway, they are a lot of other reasons that Florida may not be the place for you. Spend some time there and you'll get a feel for it. That way you can find a community that you're comfortable in & has people you connect with.

Congratulations!

The good news is, you're relocated to a large city...
in a state that is well populated with interracial relationships...

I think you'll find pockets of resistance anywhere you go in the world.
But as a lot of people here will tell you...it doesn't matter what other people think...

What does matter is how you interpret this to your children and convey to them that they are valued and loved and definately ok.

And I can tell that you will do this in a supremely loving and articulate manner.

I wish you a long and happy marriage...

Well congrats on the wedding and finding the right man..
I'm sure it will be fine in Florida.. i went there with my ex b/f and everything was perfect.. here where i live in this small town people are mean and nasty.. it is better to live in a big city. Well congrats again i wish you and your kids the best of luck in the new city and enjoy your new life.

It extremely would not remember which one is. i detect the justifying to be the most racist about all of this. even as someone yells equivalent RIGHTS, do they extremely propose "equivalent rights"? I propose, what would that be? to have the equivalent proper will be, to be allowed a similar probability to do a similar aspect. now to not be allowed to have a similar results of the man next to you. Why call for equivalent rights, even as the reality of that is equivalent effects. do not say; I might want to be graduating too, even as your grades are failing grades.do not call for the interest even as your no longer qualified for the region. the subsequent time you experience violated due on your skin colour, take know your clothing besides. Are your in a outfit it really is properly equipped, non-threatening, and ideal on your interest. Or are you donning something ill-equipped, gaudy rings, unwashed, or something that asserts; "i'm right here to do you damage."

I live in Florida, and I would say it is about the same as everywhere else. Hold your head up high and live your life the best you can. I wish you and your family the best. Florida is a nice place to live.

interracial couples will find problems everywhere but it is geting better and as far as the kids it very hard sometimes cus other kids seem os curle but you have to teach your kids to be proud no matter what others say , to always come to you when in dought or to just ask question . good luck with your new move

Honestly who cares what other ppl think. You two love each other, that is like one of the greatest things.

Don't let strangers opinions and actions affect your life and relationship with this guy. Remain strong.

Go for it, and good luck. =)
