Assuming you have USB ports on your computer , plug the mini-usb cable into your camera and the other standard end into your computer. It may ask for a CD to install some drivers , this CD should have come with the camera. When that has finished , you should , on your explorer , see some extra disk drives. These contain the directories that in turn contain the JPG pictures from the camera. you can select and copy them to your hard drive like any other file.Note well, you may need to plug your camera into the mains power supply ( through the power adaptor) as it takes a lot to move these files around in the camera.

hello my friend, i download this from word office assistant if you follow this you will feel good.

Insert a picture
Do one of the following:

Insert from a file

Click where you want to insert the picture.
To insert the picture on a drawing canvas, select the canvas.

On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File.
Locate the picture you want to insert.
Double-click the picture you want to insert.
Notes

By default, Microsoft Word embeds pictures in a document. You can reduce the size of a file by linking a picture. In the Insert Picture dialog box (Insert menu, From File submenu), click the picture, click the arrow to the right of the Insert button, and then click Link to File.

You can also insert drawings, photographs, sounds, videos, and other media files by using the Microsoft Clip Organizer.

Insert a picture directly from a scanner or digital camera

For this procedure, make sure your device is TWAIN- or WIA-compatible and is connected to your computer. You should also make sure that you have installed the device software that supports TWAIN or WIA.

Set up the picture in the scanning device.
On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From Scanner or Camera.
If you have more than one device attached to your computer, under Device, select the device you want to use.
Do one of the following:
If the selected device is a scanner, and you want to use default settings for scanning the image, click Web Quality (if you are going to show your picture on the screen) or Print Quality (if you are going to print your picture), and then click Insert to scan your picture.

If the selected device is not a scanner (for example, if it's a digital camera) or you want to customize any settings before you scan the picture, click Custom Insert. Follow the instructions that come with the device you're using.

Note The Insert button might be unavailable with some scanners because the scanner software doesn't support an automatic scan. Use the Custom Insert button instead.

It depends on how many megapixels there are, the shutter speed, and the lens. A little coolpix isn't going to take quality photos the way a rebel might, for example. I have an old (a few years old anyway, with the way cameras are being produced now it's considered old) kodak, easy share 12 mp, and 10x optical zoom. It's not that great, i actually traded it and i wish i had kept my original camera. I never use it, though. I usually use my phone, although the quality isn't as good its always with me. Unlike my camera.

Every digital camera should have a USB or Firewrie connection. Connect your digital camera to to PC via the USB or Firewire ports and switch your camera on. If you are using Win XP your computer will open a dialogue box that tells you what to do next. I hope that helps.
