Simple answer - YES! And you can check this by looking on the relevant websites for your water corporation.

A 'hosepipe ban' only stops you from watering your flower beds or allotments using a hosepipe. Although you are still allowed to wash down your patios using a hosepipe, you can also fill a swimming pool using a hosepipe during a 'hosepipe ban'.

I don't believe so, A hosepipe ban doesn't actually mean hosepipe, it means that you can only use water for essentials: cooking, cleaning (not car washing) and bathing (showers preferable). I wouldn't fill the paddling pool if I were you, you might get the water board knocking on your door with a hefty fine. It's not an essential use for water.

Yes, a sign in my local library states that you are permitted to use a hosepipe to fill a paddling pool during a hosepipe ban.

The correct answer is NO. If you check with your water board, they will give you a list of dos and donts, or you can find it on the net. They have listed only essentials which include fish ponds to protect their lives.

However, everyone is doing it, given the good weather for the kids to have some fun.Iwould suggest sensible usage of the water afterwards, as suggested by others, ie dont dump it, use it to water plants flowers or grass etc

Yeah, just don't fill it using a hosepipe.
Thames water might be facing a HUGE fine because they haven't sorted out leaks and they asked for a hosepipe ban hahahahaha

Absolutely. It's splitting hairs to have to fill it with anything else, the water's going to get in there anyway. If anyone says anything, then just tell them you'll use the water for your garden and empty it with your watering can...........
I'm just about to do the very same thing - with the hosepipe.

You could use a watering can or two to fill the pool, then you could use it to water the garden afterwards, at least you'll be recycling it.

Yes if you don't use a hosepipe! The ban prevents you from using a hosepipe, thats all!
