If you mean networking in general , then 'best' may mean cheapest/fastest/most reliable/least errors , and so on.If you want a network at home , then the cheapest is to get a small ethernet switch and plug your computers into it.The fastest would be to use 1000base-T ( that s 1000 Mb/second!) ethernet adaptors/cables/switches, and so on.
