No, not as long as one person cares and stands up for what is right. The voice of one person can be more powerful than an army. One person, you, could make all the difference in the world to someone and you don't even realize it. If you are passionate about making the world a better place, so will other people. There are an abundance of places that you could volunteer at, even at a young age, and make a difference. My son volunteering when he was only 11 and it has enriched his life as much, if not more than those he has helped.
It is sad to see so many bad posting on Yahoo Questions, but it is just because they are sad and don't have anything that they feel better to do with their time; sometimes it makes them feel better or normal to make other feel as bad as they do. Don't believe it! Have faith in yourself and God Bless!

Has been for decades. Just don't let it get to you. If your that guilt ridden though try to make a difference in your own neighborhood. Volunteer to take an elderly neighbor to the store or help a single mom with some babysitting. We each have a responsibility in this world to make a difference in at least one life in your life time. So do what you can. and when you do a deed tell that person to pass it on. We do this whenever given a chance and it does come back around.

You have to look at it this way: what you see here on answers represents a very small and often age-specific group- a very small percentage of the total world population. This percentage in no way represents the "common" mentality of people. Also, most ppl who post comments that are racial and/or hatefull are hiding behind the shield of anonymity that the Internet gives- they would never say such things out loud to other ppl because they are cowards really. These fools are really just trolling- they probably don't really believe in the things they say. So, don't despair the world has plenty of quality, peacefull ppl that strive everyday to make the world a better place!

There is always good and evil in this world. The world will continue to be the way it's going to be. You have haters that voice there opinions and silent haters that keeps their thoughts to themselves. I mean racist when i say haters. It's going to be like this forever so don't stress yourself about it. Just live your life and be happy the best way you can be. People who hate to see other races are just sad with their lives, you can't blame them. They chose to be that way. So live your life in harmony and have a good time. hate will consume the evil. They're the ones who's hurting themselves and raising their blood pressure over none sense. There will always be racism in this world. That's why, when mother nature strikes, it must be for a reason. Some change and others stay lost. The lost ones will find themselves eventually. This world have so many beautiful cultures and languages to explore. It's the most beautiful thing to experience. Live your life and let the miserable be miserable. Take care. Remember, stay in harmony with your life and environment.

Depends on your outlook. As in any other human endevour, the 'cream' is less than ten % of the bottle. In other words a whole lot of **** must be thrown at the wall in order for some to stick. Or how about 'seperate the wheat from the chaff'. My favourite line was said by Mean Joe Green of the NFL ,"I just go through the pile until I find the one with the ball".

Lola, the problem is that the people do what they want, not what is necessary. I think, every or almost every problem comes out of this. Is the world hopeless? Well, if it was, I don't think we would have a situation we have right now. But, again, the only way to save everything, including our lives, is to stop doing what we want and do only what is needed to be done.

Hey lola,
Don't be so depressed.
I kind of agree with atcaug85.
U know, we r born in the comparative best point of time.
To see how badly people treated other people in other times, just read "The Hunchback of NotreDame"
It's a fabulous book. But that's not the point.
Just make it ur life mission to make a (any, minimal) positive difference in every life that u touch ...

I'm afraid so. And, I reckon, getting worse. We're all growing more greedy, more superficial, more uncaring and more hateful. Hopefully, there is a mega asteroid out there with earth's name on it.
