Yes, we invaded Iraq and that set up turmoil in the mid-east. George Bush is in bed with the oil company's and allowing them to do anything that they wish. He is also profiting from it. So yes the U.S. is responsible for the high cost of gasoline in the world.

To some degree, but we actually get more of our oil from the Mideast. Read the link and be sure to read to Operations portions. Where it will tells you that they (OPEC) controls the price of Oil. Natually, Oil companies are in business to make money. I actaully pay more for a gallon of milk than Gas. Oil prices are created by supply and demand, and how many barrels are being pumped out by OPEC. Their are other factors (i.e. News such as Hurricans Katrina. Which Knocked out about 8-10% of Oil production which can come out to about 30,000 barrels a day. I'm sure their is some ties between Oil companies and Politicians for kickbacks but I think that has to with more where they can drill, and get away will lesser polution controls than how much oil companies can charge for oil. Again, I stress I pay more for milk than gas. And did you see what it takes to drill for oil? those big rigs out in the middle of the ocean. Takes hundreds of well edcuated workers. Compare to Milk you need a barn and a cow and a farmer.

No, but in a way yes.
We've cowed down to the liberals who won't let us drill oil in places like ANWR and off the coast of Florida.. We've let them bully us into not building more refineries to produce gasoline.
So my answer is yes
But no. The government doesn't regulate oil prices or gas prices. Nor should it.

Well as much as we in the USA like to take credit for everything we have to pass this dubios honor over to China and India. These countries are growing at an amazing rate. With that growth comes new construction and more use of transportation. China especially is sucking up resources. They require wood, concrete (which has caused our prices to go up 50%), Steel for buildingings etc..etc..etc... and they also require oil.
Here are some articals in regards to this:
OIL
China was the world's second largest consumer of petroleum products in 2004, having surpassed Japan for the first time in 2003, with total demand of 6.5 million barrels per day (bbl/d). China's oil demand is projected by EIA to reach 14.2 million bbl/d by 2025, with net imports of 10.9 million bbl/d. As the source of around 40% of world oil demand growth over the past four years, with year-on-year growth of 1.0 million bbl/d in 2004, Chinese oil demand is a key factor in world oil markets.
Here's a more recent story:
Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter, may direct increased output toward China and India as the world's fastest-growing markets compete for supplies.
Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah visits the two most populous nations this week as the global oil rally enters a fifth year. Prices have quadrupled since 2001, partly because of soaring demand from developing economies, prompting OPEC's biggest supplier to pledge higher output.

So as much as it would please many, we cannot hang this on this administration or even any past administration.

To a degree we are! The bleeding heart liberals and tree huggers that continue to fight against this country to allow safe drilling for oil to offset our dependency for foreign supply are at the head of the list!!!!

I think that they are. I just wish that they would just bring the troops home and be done with it. I can't stand all this war crap. That's just my opinion. I just don't like bush and the way he's running things.
