1. "..program that is used must be continually adapted else it becomes progressively less satisfactory"
Users become dis-satisfied with product and your company loses customers
2. "As a program is evolved its complexity increases unless work is done to maintain or reduce it"
Your maintenance costs increase until the support costs exceed the development budget
3. "The program evolution process is self regulating with close to normal distribution of measures of product and process attributes"
If the programmers won't follow the development process, the company will impose one, or outsource the IT department to a company that does (ouch!)
