Most freshwater fish are edible but it's advisable to check the water quality records for the area where the fish was caught. Fish caught in water high in contaminants (such as mercury) should not be eaten.

At Hampton Court Palace there are stretches of water which were built for carp to be farmed a long time ago. Pike is edible too I have tried it and it tastes awful. I'd stick to sea fish if I were you.

all are edible ... but carp takes special cooking. Nail it to a board, roast it over an open flame, throw away the carp and eat the board.

They are all edible but contain mercury. It is advised to only eat 2 a month unless you are pregnant that zero is the recommend consumption.
