I have come across two (of the same) bugs in the past few weeks and I have no idea what they are. They are about 1/2 inch long with about 6-8 legs, sort of worm looking with dark stripes on their back. Anyone have any idea what they are??? I found them in our house.

It could be a house centipede...but without more information I can't say for sure it is.

With only six legs, you can rule out a centipede. What it sounds like to me a beetle larvae. Possible Dermestidae, look it up on the internet for an image, but they are very common in housholds, the adults are known as carpet beetles. Another thought that popped into my mind is the possibilty that they may be Tenebrionidae beetles, the meal-worm larvae, typically they arent found in the home, but they may have come in accidentally. Another possibility is the Firebrat, a very common household visitor, they seem to fit your description as well. Try typing these three things into google or yahoo and see if the pictures match up. Good Luck!
