Take the standardized test (SAT and ACT tests)

Do the best you can to get good grades in high schooll

Make sure you have at least 3 or 4 extracurricular activities.

Fill out the college application and send it in.

Make sure to do a personal interview with the college.

Wait for your acceptance or rejection letter. The acceptance letter is usually much bigger so you will probably know before opening it.

It is important to get good grades in high school and also a good score on the ACT and/or SAT (depending on which colleges you apply to).

As far as extracurricular activites, they are not REQUIRED, but help you greatly with your chances. Also, any community service or volunteer work helps a lot.

As far as a personal interview, I go to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and I never had a personal interview. I had to submit a resume, a short essay, as well as a couple samples of my best works of writing.

So it really depends on what college you apply to, but the good grades and good ACT/SAT scores are very important
