When we come in contact with somthing ,what is the first thing we do.We get fascinated by seeing it,wether it is a car or a house or a girl or whatever.we don't smell these things or lick them. It's human nature.we get fascinated with what we see.we get binded by materialistic things because every human wants luxury and that's what materialistic things.they provide luxury, are fascinating, etc.we need to change our outlook to things if we have to stop getting bibded by materialistic things

That's a subject that could take a long time to answer. But I'll summarize it the best I can. I believe things are a lot easier to deal with than relationships with people. With things you don't have to make yourself vulnerable, you can hide behind them. As with people were afraid to let them in for fear of either getting made fun of because of who we really are. Telling someone who we really are means telling them how we feel inside about different things. Were afraid we might not be liked for who we really are and yet that's the very reason people don't get to know eacfh other. I think first we have to become secure enough within ourselves of who we are, then that it won't matter what others think when we learn to love ourselves and I don't mean egotistically I just mean accepting ourselves for who we are. Things we can hide behind, things don't reveal who we are inside they only tell a person about us. I grew up in a house with five other people but never really knew who they were as people just a lot of things about them. Well for the sake of not being long winded,I hope this helped a little bit. Thankyou for asking I think we all need it.

I think some people are blined by material things to increase their social status.
Having things is not bad it's the attitude of that person. If they know how to give with a genuine heart, as well as get, then it's ok. So long as they are not snobby, or look down on people with less things, or not as nice of things as theirs

They think that if they have really neat things and look their best they tend to think that they'll have more friends. I know people who are like this and belive me they don't have real friends they just use them.
